Self portrait! :3
I've already introduced myself, but I'll do it once more ^^
I'm Mochi Ochi! I'm a youtuber that loves sharing her interests and junk!I've been an artist since I was in early elementary, doing fandom and OC art - which I still continue to do to this day. Maybe (definitely) not at the same pace I used to, but you can find a lot of my silly works on Instagram!
My other interests fall into a few different categories -- I honestly keep things somewhat diverse where I can, but I do go back to all of them!My most consistent hobbies are obviously gaming and aquatics, but I enjoy doodling, writing, and reading as well ^^I'm a full time student at the moment, and I work part time, so balancing everything's been a bit exhausting but I'm trying my best... even if my brain is melting (╥ω╥)

most notably, I've started aquatics, and VTubing. I have 2 established fish tanks - a 15 gallon for my Betta, and a 40 gallon community tank for schooling fish and some mollies! As for VTubing, I started on Twitch, but circumstance and a difference in growth encouraged me to commit to Youtube :3
I've also started origami, by recommendation of a friend for when I'm feeling weird. I haven't done much, but I've got the paper ready for when I need it.Indie site making is another fun one, obviously LOL. In that same strand, I've also started collecting vinyls and DVDs to work on physically owning things I grew up streaming! This year I'd like to work on a CD collection as well ^^//Fandom wise, I really like AoT and Gachiakuta, along with a salad toss of other animes and animations - LOL. It's hard to pin them down since there's a bunch I could list...OH! I've also got 2 cats. You'll hear me mention them on stream: Mimzi and Corduroy. They mean the world to me, and I love them to bits!

As far as lore goes, she's been trapped for a little over 50 years now. She tracks time, but it's based off a calendar she found and duplicated. She lost her right eye prior to becoming an entity, so while she regenerates, she's unable to get the eye back. Usually her right ear and right side of her face are skinned, as she uses blood and flesh sacrifices to make the fish, sharks, shrimp, ect Real, rather than just apparitions.
Plants in the aquarium are all real because they aren't made of flesh, and they are maintained with a small dose of mana daily to keep them from dying.

Mana Rules
Liminal mana is different from traditional mana.The realm my sona is originally from has a world built on a more classic mana rule (think Dungeons and Dragons), but Liminal magic is sort of... black hole meets regeneration meets time magic. That's about the best way I can describe it.Here are some rules to liminal mana;
Rule 1: Everything always goes back to how it was before. If you move a chair, the chair will move back. If you tear cloth, the cloth will put itself back together. If you shatter a window, the pieces will disappear over time, and the window will slowly 'heal' until it is whole again. This is "regeneration". Treat the space as a living entity, where everything will heal to its original state with time.Rule 2: Foreign objects will always be assimilated, if they are not removed. Assimilation time varies, but if a doll is dropped into a liminal space, after a period of time it will completely disappear. See rule 1.Rule 3: Liminal mana is suffocating. Everything will die within a sooner timeframe, as the mana consumes the life force and makes it extremely difficult to thrive. If a non magical creature falls in, they will die. If a plant falls in, they will die. The liminal realm is a true limbo.Rule 4: If a magical creature falls in, their existing magic will become erroded by the liminal mana, and they will assimilate with the liminal space, becoming a part of it. This creature will not need food, will always return to its original form (prior to assimilation), and will be unable to leave the liminal realm, otherwise it will die. They will be trapped in a permanant state of existing. They are no longer a person, they are an entity.Rule 5: If a creature that falls in escapes, they will fully recover from any damage done by the liminal mana. If they are close to death, they will heal naturally within their own realm once they have escaped and make a full recovery. Effects of liminal mana are not permanant, as long as you are not a magical creature. If you are a magical creature, the liminal mana has begun erroding your mana, and you escape before you are an entity, you will die. The liminal mana will continue to assimilate you, and you will become very sick, before suddenly disappearing. The rate at which this happens is directly impacted by the length of exposure to liminal mana. It's best to avoid entering or interacting with liminal mana at all.Rule 5: If a magical creature has no flesh, it will become fully absorbed by the liminal magic. If it has flesh, it will retain its physical body, and its physical body will retain the amount of magical power it originally had access to.Rule 6: Entities are a physical representation of the liminal realm. If the realm is unhealthy, the entities will get sick.Rule 7: Entities are able to make permanent changes to the liminal environments within certain bounds. (Example: They are unable to bring items from other spaces into a new space, but they can reorganise and duplicate items from existing spaces, as well as make items that fall in permanant fixtures.)
Note: Ochi is able to supersede this rule within a certain bound. She can suspend items in liminal time within the pocket dimension in her right eye socket, allowing her to transition items between spaces safely, but it cannot be smaller than a briefcase, and cannot be removed from a permanant fixture (such as moving ceiling light fixtures between spaces, or taking hyperspecific items dedicated to those spaces)Rule 8: Small non-human animals are immune to liminal mana effects. This includes cats, dogs, hampsters, ect. (:3 hehe)

lim·i·nal
/ˈlimənəl/
adjective
1. occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold.
"I was in the liminal space between past and present"2. relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process.
"that liminal period when a child is old enough to begin following basic rules but is still too young to do so consistently"

In my sona's AU, the liminal space is its own realm that encapsulates and represents the in-between thresholds of spaces for the human (IRL) realm. It's much closer to the human realm than it is the fantasy realm my sona is from, which makes her being there a very rare freak accident. It's safer for the liminal realm to be further from the magical one, in order to prevent the liminal mana from consuming it.The human realm is completely uneffected by the liminal mana, and due to how close the realms are, there are pockets in the human realm that are frequently studied by scientists from earth to try and understand it. This also means living beings and items are able to fall into the liminal realm as well if a pocket is unguarded. My sona meets the scientists frequently, and together they're able to learn some of the more technical aspects of her home. Honestly, they're pretty cordial, and they bring her things from the human realm :3She's also able to help return live creatures that may have fallen into her realm to try and preserve their lives.Because the liminal space is so close to the human realm, connecting the realms electronically has been made possible, allowing scientists to report directly back as long as their equipment reaches the space they're exploring.
There are, at the moment, no other liminal entities within the liminal realm, but with magical maintinence, my sona has been able to create a lively aquarium full of aquatic animals and plants. And, purely for my own indulgence, I'm going to say she also has 2 cats as well :3 The scientists help her with vet visits and bring fresh pet food for her :3I want the lore in the AU to make sense, but as usual when it comes to sonas and lore, she's both a creative representation of me, as well as an oc, so I'll blur the line however I want nwn
Magic works in mysterious ways right? LOLOL
I would say this AU is inspired by a healthy combination of the backrooms, SCP foundation, and Dungeons and Dragons ^^I didn't want to deal with the technicals of building my personal AU off of massive existing projects, especially when there is so much I wanted to change. So.. I just developed my favourite parts (liminal space, scientists, fantasy) into their own thing :D Yupee!Thank you so much for reading!
